Becky Moss Receives Civil Rights Award

The Utah Stonewall Democrats are pleased to announce that Becky Moss, our fearless leader, is the recipient of the International Jose Julio Sarria Civil Rights Award. The award is conveyed by the International Imperial Court System, the governing body of the Imperial Courts in Canada, the United States, and Mexico. It is to be presented Sunday by Queen Mother Nicole the Great at the Imperial Court Coronation in Salt Lake City.

Moss has been involved in LGBTQIA+ activism and politics since the 1970s, and is best known for co-hosting the groundbreaking KRCL radio program Concerning Gays and Lesbians (Moss was responsible for adding "and Lesbians" to the title) from 1981 to 2003. Having been involved with the Utah Stonewall Democrats since its inception, Moss was elected to serve as Board Chair in 2015.

Utah Stonewall Democrats (USO) is a Salt Lake City-based LGBTQIA+ group and one of the Utah Democratic Party's affiliated caucuses. USO advocates for Utah's LGBTQIA+ community by working to elect fair-minded candidates and being active in social justice efforts.
